Gardening news

I think I have an intruder in my garden ..... see this nice picture of my lettuce garden. In the far left side of the garden, you'll see a clump of green (see closer up). I was excited because I thought this was my spinach coming up hard and fast, except it wasn't exactly in the right spot, row-wise. I think this is yet another Sunflower ... what do you think? These are popping up EVERYWHERE! I think I am being taken over ... it's feeling very "Day of the Triffids" in my yard right now.

Here are some other nice pics of my garden situation:
Peonies
Pansies - I transplanted these from my back garden twice until I found an Ok spot for them. All the moving seems to have made them stronger!
Lupines

I have a couple of mystery flowers - can anyone help with the id?
Mystery 1
Mystery 2

Sauce
Mystery 1 is yellow hawkweed, and mystery 2 is loosestrife.

I was reading about peonies, and they were saying that unless you are really sure about the vigour of your plant, you're almost better off buying new ones from a nursery than destroying the ones you have. I really really love your peonies, and they are making so many flowers. Beautiful!

Science nerd out.

Blast. I mean that Mystery 1 is loosestrife, and Mystery 2 is hawkweed.

How many times can I post a reply to my own self? Anyways...to clarify, the book I read about peonies said that splitting them can be risky...if you love them it's best to just leave them, unless you are cool with the chance that they'll stop flowering for a year or two...or worse....I can't evne say it.

I'm done replying to the reply of my replies.

Thanks you so much for your help! I think I am going to move the offending Lettuce Invaders somewhere else and see what they become just out of curiosity. They definitely don't belong there!
