Slipped Stitches

A small group of knitters with a range of knitting experiences - from the wise Maple Girl to the careful and fresh faced Sauce, and the full throttle knit or die style of Sly. Enjoy our varied projects and thoughts, and if you don't have anything nice to say...well...you know.

Here's the cozy

I think I might put a snap closure on the top of the cozy...not sure yet. I am pleased with it, except that a bunch of fuzz from my washing maching (previously washed keenex) got felted into it. grrrrr...

Cell phone cozy

Miss G has kindly given me some gorgeous Noro yarn, and using her pattern, I'm felting me up a cell phone cozy. It's taking forever to felt though, and I'm afraid because it wont shorten, so now it looks like...er...a hot dog cozy. That's it...
I'll post some pics soon.

Attention deficit knitting

Since hoodie is done, I'm sort of aimless in the knitting. I also have way more wool leftover than I thought I would, but it is nice, so I'm sure I can find a use for it. I've started 2 projects, but they're both on stupid small needles so I'm getting somewhat discouraged.

I thought I'd start some socks for Mr. Sly using leftover hoodie wool...here's a start:

The sock pattern from the sock page is really good, I think, and the resulting socks look alot like the ones that my late aunt in Finland used to send us.

I've also started the damned cardigan from Stitch 'n Bitch with the mohair trim...it is slow going.

Seems kind of dumb though...it's really nice outside, but I don't know what to do out there. Ah well, I have the whole weekend of fun in the sun at the Northern Lights Festival Boreal, which is a leisurely walk from my place. I'm particularly excited about seeing Ryan Bishops and the Bender Brothers, Sarah Harmer, and Jorane. Woo!

Finally!

I finally finished hoodie this morning. It was a bit of a pain in the butt, especially the sewing of the sleeves - I had to do a fair bit of math, and some half assed modifications to mattress stitch. Ick.

Here's a pic...

I'm blocking it now...what shall I do next? On one hand, I want to get going on a cardigan with my huge spool of wool from Romni Wool, but I also want a smaller, less time consuming project. Hope the Montreal girls (and boys) are having fun! Happy Canada Day!
