Picture upload tutorial

I need some help figuring out how to upload decent looking pictures. Sly - you and I have the same camera, yet your pics look amazing when posted, and mine are all grainy. Can you give me a play-by-play on how you do it? Here's what I do:

1. I take the pictures, with the camera set on the highest resolution.

2. I resize the picture so it isn't freakishly big. In this case I shrunk it 50%. I actually tried uploading one that wasn't shrunk at all and it didn't look any better, so I don't think this is the problem

3. I upload the pics to my Yahoo, and then "copy image location". Plug this address into Blogger. I think this is it - are you using your webspace from your home account for picture storage?

Help!!!

Your pics look good - I don't see the grainy at all. Maybe I'm missing something. I do the same stuff with my pics, and I just resize them same as you do so they're not huge. I put mine directly onto my personal webspace, but I can't imagine that yahoo pics would alter the original photo. Not sure what else it could be...maybe try and activate your webspace and see if that works? Miss G?

Oh, has anybody noticed the shitload of spam comments we're getting?? It's ridiculous! I am emailing blogger to find out what the problem is.

I guess I can't edit comments...Sauce, I looked at your other pics and I wonder if they're too big? I noticed that the knitpics wool label looked grainy but when I zoomed in it was very very clear and not grainy at all. Maybe you can try shrinking it a bit smaller? I noticed that you had linked from your geocities space...did you do that for your vest pic too?

I don't see the grainy either. But, if you're looking to simplify, try Flickr. Steps involved:

1. Right click on image, choose "Send to Flickr"

2. Log in to flickr, and click on image.

3. Click "Blog this picture".

And that's all.

Thanks ladies! I will try your suggestions, and I think I am going to switch to Flickr. I have had some grief with Yahoo not always letting me see my images... arggg....
